Spoken English Course for Beginners

If you’re looking for a spoken English course for beginners which gets you speaking English from the very first class, you’re in the right place.

That’s right, you will be able to ask and answer some very basic questions about yourself after just 30 minutes of class time with me.

I’m one of the few English people who knows how the Polish language works. This puts me in a fantastic position to help Polish beginner learners of English avoid the phenomenon known as language transfer and, consequently, make less mistakes which are influenced by their mother tongue.

What materials will you encounter in my Spoken English Course for Beginners?

Generally, I don’t use coursebooks with intermediate and advanced-level students. With students at these levels, I make good use of authentic materials, such as online news articles, to stimulate discussion and the learning of useful phrases and collocations. However, when it comes to beginners, I do use a coursebook which, in my experience, has admirable communicative aims. The book belongs to the ground-breaking Innovations series of coursebooks. Check out my review of Innovations – Elementary, which is, in my view, the best coursebook for elementary level students of English.

Don’t worry about the ‘elementary’ level of the book. We will go through the coursebook slowly but surely, and pay attention to building your vocabulary and stock of basic phrases and useful collocations. There are some great little texts and personal stories in the book which I am sure you will take great interest in. Check out the personal descriptions in the image.

Finally, one of the best things about each Innovations coursebook is that much of the vocabulary frequently reappears at regular intervals in a process known as vocabulary recycling. Recurrent encounters with words and phrases will ensure that they stick in your mind.
